DIY (Do It Yourself) Lamps & Chandeliers You Can Create

There’s something really satisfying about creating a useful object with your own hands, especially if you make it with recycled materials. It also help the environment while creating and making crafty items appeals to you, here are some excellent DIY ideas for light fixtures that will literally brighten your day.

There are tons of DIY light fixture projects out there to choose from if you’re interested – these are just some of our favorite.


Paper Spikes Pendant Light


Items Required -

  • Some little hard sheet of Papers

  • Pair of scissors

  • Glue

  • Round Shaped Paper Lamp

  • String

  • Electrical Bulb Holder, Some Wire & a bulb (LED)

Although, above picture explain almost everything but still for reader's ease, Cut paper sheets in spikes (as shown in picture) then apply glue on the surface of round shaped paper lamp and then stick the paper spikes on it. After it get dry hang it where ever u like once u install the holder & bulb. Paper and bulb color can be of your choice.


Wine Bottle Lights






Items Required -

  • Some Empty Bottles (10-12)

  • String

  • Electrical Bulb Holder, Some Wire & a bulb (LED)


Tie every bottle with string by there neck with almost same length. In bunch of bottles, place bulb holder in the middle of it. Hang it to the ceiling & enjoy the your DIY chandelier.








Plastic Bottle Chandelier

Items Required -

  • Some Empty Plastic Bottles (25-35)

  • plastic String

  • Metal ring

  • Electrical Bulb Holder, Some Wire & a bulb (LED)

Cut the plastic bottle from bottom 1 inch, tie these cut plastic flower bottoms (as shown in picture) place the holder & bulb in the middle of the ring. Now, hang your metal ring from ceiling.




Yarn Lampshade/Chandelier



Items Required

  • Roll of Yarn

  • A balloon

  • Glue

  • String to Hang

  • Electrical Bulb Holder, Some Wire & a bulb (LED)

After blowing the balloon apply glue all over. Dip the Yarn in Glue for sometime. Then tie Yarn on and around the balloon & let it dry for 5-8 hrs. Once it become hard, it takes it own shape. Take it out the Balloon and the yarn will as it is. Now just put the bulb holder and hang or you can keep on side table, it at desired place & show off your creativity.

Same way one can make it with cloth laces or net table mats also.


Paper Orb Lights

Items Required

  • Many Cupcake paper/ Cup Liners

  • Glue/Stapler

  • String to Hang

  • Electrical Bulb Holder, Some Wire & a bulb (LED)

Stick using glue or staple to give a Orb shape and make a big ball of cupcake papers. Attach the holder and bulb and hang your hand made chandelier.


TetraBox Lamp



Items Required

  • Tetra Boxes

  • Glue & Stapler

  • String to Hang

  • Electrical Bulb Holder, Some Wire & a bulb (LED)

Cut the Tetra box and make it flat. Now cut the strips of 2/3 inches strips of it. Further, cut the strips into 9 inches, give a fold on 3 inch and make it as a triangle. Keep the silver side out. Stick these triangle and make a big ball of it. As usual, attach the holder and bulb in the middle of it and hang. Place it in your foyer or any corner and see the light effect.


Paper Bag Table Lamp







Items Required

  • A Paper Bag (silver foil inside)

  • Star cutter (of any other shape)

  • Electrical Bulb Holder, Some Wire & a bulb (LED)

Take the Paper bag and fold the top inside out. Cut few stars/ circle or any other shapes (don't make it too much or too big). Put the holder and bulb inside (make sure not to use normal filament bulb), place it in a corner. One can also use dimmer with it to use as a mood lighting.
